I am aware of the known issue of slow Wi-Fi speed on wake-up with earlier Surface machines. (I haven't tried Ethernet - this isn't a fix as it's not an option long-term I need to be able to use this machine wirelessly.) Having read around it seems to be a known issue that there's no fix for, but a relatively new one, given the age of the model. I'm pretty sure I'm going to gave to return this expensive, high-spec but ultimately useless machine.īut before I do give up completely, I'd be very grateful if anyone has any ideas on whether I might actually be able to fix this. I've tried absolutely everything I can think of, everything my work's internal support can think of, and everything suggested to me by a Microsoft Adviser over chat (which he eventually just stopped answering). I can't even have a video call using this machine - it's not fit for purpose currently. On my home network both my other laptop (much lower-spec) and cheap phone both get at least 23 Mbps download speed. This is regardless of network - I have the same issue at home and on office networks. I have had a brand new Surface Book 3 for five weeks and have never managed to get more than 3 Mbps download speed on it.
